Key Competencies
The AMC is organised around three national centres: The National Centre for Ports and Shipping, the National centre for maritime Engineering and Hydrodynamics and the National Centre for Marine Conservation and Resource Sustainability. The AMC specialises in undergraduate degrees in maritime engineering, the marine environment, maritime business, logistics and technology as well as coastal and international seafaring qualifications. A range of postgraduate offerings is also available.
Courses and Training workshops:
- Three different engineering degrees are offered: Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine and Offshore Systems.
- AMC is the national training provider for ocean seafaring. Diploma, advanced diploma and bachelor qualifications can be studied at AMC. Training programs are nationally approved by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), State Marine Authority and, where appropriate, satisfy the STCW 95 convention.
- A large range of short courses for coastal seafaring qualifications are taught throughout the year.
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Marine Environment) includes majors in fisheries management, marine conservation and aquaculture.
